Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information ULeveling (“the App”) collects about you, how we use and share that information, and your rights in relation to that data. By using ULeveling, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information from and about users of the App. This includes:
- Account Information: When you create a ULeveling account via Sign in with Apple, we receive personal identifiers such as your Apple-assigned user ID, your name (if you choose to share it), and your email address (this may be a private relay email if you use Apple's hide-my-email feature). We use this information to set up your account and authenticate you on login. (Note: We do not receive or store your Apple ID password or any payment card details used with Apple – those are managed by Apple.)
- Onboarding Questionnaire Data: During the onboarding process, the App asks you for various personal details to personalize your experience. This may include your age; your gender (Male, Female, or Other/Non-binary); details about your life status and daily commitments; your typical sleep schedule; the amount of time you plan to commit daily to self-improvement; your focus areas or interests; your preference for a roadmap style; your initial goals and timeframes; how you found us; and any rating or feedback questions.
- In-App Activity and Content: We collect information about your activities in the App, including quests data, stats and progress, goals and roadmap, journaling entries, usage data and analytics, location or time zone, and customer support interactions.
- We do not collect any biometric data, health data from Apple Health, contacts, or sensors like microphone/camera content through the App. We also do not collect sensitive identifiers such as social security numbers or financial account information.
2. How We Use Your Information
ULeveling uses the collected information to provide, personalize, and improve the App's services. Specifically:
- To Set Up and Maintain Your Account: We use your Sign in with Apple credentials to create and secure your account and to communicate important account-related information.
- To Personalize Your Experience: We use onboarding responses and activity data to generate tailored daily quests, adjust task difficulty, provide relevant feedback, and customize in-App content.
- AI-Powered Content Generation: We transmit relevant data to OpenAI's API to generate personalized content (e.g., stats, quests, motivational text). This data is used solely within the App to enhance your experience.
- To Manage Quests, Stats, and Achievements: We track your quest completions and stats to update levels and unlock achievements.
- To Provide Subscription Services: We monitor subscription status (free trial, active, canceled) to control feature access; payments are processed by Apple.
- Communications: We use your data for in-App notifications and service-related emails. We do not send promotional emails without your consent.
- To Improve and Analyze Our Services: We analyze aggregate and anonymized usage patterns to enhance App features and performance.
- Ensuring Security and Preventing Misuse: We process and monitor data to detect fraud, abuse, or unauthorized activity.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with:
- Service Providers: Third-party processors (e.g., Supabase for data storage, OpenAI for content generation) bound by contract to safeguard your data.
- Apple: For authentication (Sign in with Apple) and payment processing (in-App purchases, subscriptions).
- RevenueCat (or similar): Subscription management service to verify purchase receipts and entitlement status.
- Email/Support Tools: Services we use to handle support requests via ulevel.app/contact-support.
- Within the App (Optional Features): Public gamified data (e.g., leaderboards) only with explicit user consent, without exposing private details.
- Legal and Safety: If required by law, to comply with valid requests from authorities, or to protect our rights.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale, user information may be transferred to a successor, subject to this policy.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Security Measures: Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest; third-party services implement industry-standard protections.
- Developer Access: Restricted to essential support and maintenance tasks.
- No Absolute Guarantee: Despite measures, no system is completely risk-free; you use the App at your own risk.
- Password and Authentication: We rely on Sign in with Apple for secure login without storing passwords.
- Data Location: Data is stored on servers (e.g., Supabase in the USA); by using the App, you consent to international data transfers.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Inactive accounts may have data anonymized or deleted after a reasonable period. Deleting your account via the App settings erases or anonymizes your data; some non-identifying data (analytics, purchase records) may be retained for legal or reporting purposes.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access & Portability: Request a copy of your personal information.
- Correction: Update inaccuracies via the App or contact support.
- Deletion: Delete your account in settings or contact support to remove your data.
- Withdraw Consent/Objection/Opt-Out: Manage consents and opt-out of optional analytics or communications.
- California Residents (CCPA): Rights to know, delete, and non-discrimination.
- EU/UK Residents (GDPR): Rights including data portability, correction, deletion, and complaint to authorities.
- Manage Notifications: Control push notifications via device settings.
- Hide My Email (Apple Users): Apple relay email handling; manage email forwarding or account deletion for support emails.
7. Children's Privacy
ULeveling is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If discovered, we will delete such data. Users aged 13–17 should use the App with parental guidance.
8. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to external sites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites; review their policies before providing information. Apple's Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases are governed by Apple's policies.
9. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in practices or legal requirements. We will update the "Last updated" date and provide in-App or email notices for significant changes. Continued use signifies acceptance.
10. Contact Us
